#  Powerflex Charger 

 



Transportation Services has installed dynamic level 2 EV chargers at the 52 Oxford St garage as we continue to support EV adoption across campus despite limited electrical capacity. These Powerflex chargers require an active 52 Oxford St ECS permit and users must use the Powerflex app to reserve a charger and indicate charging preferences. 5-Day ECS (Electric Vehicle Charging) permits can be requested at the Campus Service Center.

The ECS program is designed to provide access and equity for those who need stations the most – i.e., those who need a supplemental charge to have enough range to return home. [Click here](/resource/electric-vehicle-charging-stations) for full program details.

For 52 Oxford chargers the following additional policies are in place:

- Chargers are available on a first come first served basis.
- Vehicles should only be parked at chargers while actively charging.
- Vehicles parked at a campus charger without an active charge for 2 or more hours are in violation of university policy.

This is a pilot project and as such we reserve the right to modify the program to maximize the number of users able to share this resource.



 

 

##  How to Use Powerflex 

 



  Open all sections   Close all sections  



###    Download app & create account  expand\_more  

- Download the Powerflex app on the [Apple App Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/powerflex/id1331137726) or [Google Play Store](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.powerflexsystems.powerflex&hl=en_US).
- Create an account using your Harvard email address.
- Tap **Skip** when prompted to add funds.

 

 



###    Start charging  expand\_more  

- Tap on **Start Charging** tab. Locate and scan QR code on the charging station. Review charge preferences.
- Tap **Continue** to start charging.

 

 



###    Edit charge preferences  expand\_more  

- Enter the amount of charge you need in kWh. You can set charge level by miles or until full. Entering the amount of time you wish to stay will optimize charging.

 

 



###    View sessions  expand\_more  

- Charging will begin once your car is plugged in. It may take a few minutes to monitor charging progress.
- Tap **View Sessions** to view current power, energy delivered and more.

 

 



###    Find chargers  expand\_more  

- Locate available stations by tapping the **Location** tab. Map pins show the total number of stations at the site and colors around the pin indicate station availability.

 

 



###    Connect to Wifi  expand\_more  

- Before opening your powerflex app or initiating a charge, please make sure your phone is setup to connect to Harvard Secure. There is extremely limited cellular service in the 52 Oxford St garage that will prevent you from authenticating and starting a session.
