Changes to parking permit renewal

We are excited to announce that our parking permit and verification system will transition from physical hangtags to a virtual permitting system. This change will take effect over the next permit year.

Virtual Permitting

Over the coming year, Harvard Parking Services will transition to a virtual permitting system, which means you will not receive a new physical hangtag when you renew for the 2025-26 year and beyond. If you renew parking access, then once our new system is up and running in the coming months, your license plate will become your parking credential. Until that time, your current 2024-25 hangtag will continue to provide access to your campus parking. The benefits of virtual permitting include quicker garage entry times, more efficient permit verification, and minimizing plastic waste.

Action Items for permit holders renewing for the 2025-26 year

  • Please log into the parking portal to complete your renewal by June 30, 2025. If you want to make changes to your parking election, do not renew and instead, contact the Campus Service Center.
  • While in the renewal portal, review your vehicle and license plate information. Your license plate(s) will serve as your parking credential on campus. When renewing, please ensure you update your vehicle and license plate details to maintain access to your designated parking location.
  • Please continue to display your current 2024-25 hangtag and transponder (if applicable) until the new permitting system is operational.
