Harvard Transit: Shuttle Survey
Authorized trip counters will be on site gathering ridership information from February 11-12th, 2026. Your input is essential!
Harvard Transit is launching a year-long initiative to review Harvard Shuttle ridership. As part of this effort, we’ll be conducting brief on-site surveys to better understand how our shuttles are used by students, faculty, staff, residents, and community members.
Details
- Trip counters from VHB, a transportation planning firm, in collaboration with Harvard University Planning and Design and Harvard Transportation Services, will be at select shuttle stops and on board the shuttles, from February 11-12th, 2026, to collect responses. They are trained to respect your privacy and keep the process quick and simple.
- You’ll be asked three quick questions:
- What is your affiliation? (e.g. Student, Working Group, Community Member)
- What is the purpose of your ride? (e.g. Academics, Business, Pleasure)
- What is your final shuttle stop destination?
- The trip counters will not collect names, contact details, or any personally identifiable information. The survey is anonymous and used solely to understand our ridership.
- Trip counters will be identified in VHB safety vests.
- Participation is voluntary, but we encourage it! If you encounter a trip counter more than once while riding the shuttle, please participate if you can. We are collecting data for the total number of trips, not trips per person.
