ZipBy
ZipBy is a ticketless system that provides flexibility for hourly parking needs at select Harvard University parking facilities. Please email parking@harvard.edu for troubleshooting, questions or concerns.
Follow these simple steps to start parking today!
- Download ZipBy App
- Free on Apple App Store and Google Play Store
- Create your account
- Enter your contact and payment information to register for ZipBy. You can use more than one credit card.
- Enable all services
Your mobile device's Bluetooth controls the gates. Please enable your mobile device settings to "Always" allow access to Bluetooth, Location*, Motion & Fitness, and Notification in the ZipBy App.
*ZipBy does not track you outside the use of the app. Location services are required for the app to operate and to alert the ZipBy system when you arrive.

- Harvard faculty, staff, students and affiliates (with Harvard HUID): 52 Oxford Garage, Broadway Garage, Soldiers Field Park Garage, Webster Lot. Information on how to pay for ZipBy parking at Observatory Lot and 2 Hague can be found below.
- Non Affiliates (Construction\contractors): 52 Oxford Garage, Soldiers Field Park Garage, Webster Field only.
- Register for additional savings (Harvard HUID only)
Harvard faculty, staff, and students with a valid Harvard email address are eligible for the Harvard affiliate rate by submitting a form for each Harvard facility that you plan to park in.

Drive into the lot and leave when you want. Pay as you go. You'll only pay for the time you remain parked!
ZipBy Tips
Manual Gate Entry
All ZipBy users are now required to open gates and doors using the ZipBy app. When entering and exiting a facility or approaching a door, open your ZipBy app and click the blue “Open gates and doors” button to raise the gate or unlock a door. If ZipBy fails, try restarting the app, wait ten seconds to start up, and click the “Open gates and doors” button again.
Parking at Observatory and 2 Hague
- Drive to the lot and park
- In the ZipBy app, tap: Enter Zone Code
- Type in the unique code displayed on the ZipBy sign in the lot
- Enter in the start and end time
- Start session
- End parking session when leaving or extend time in app if needed.
Please note: Construction workers and contractors are not permitted to park in these locations.
Pre-Tax Savings
Enroll in a debit card for pre-tax savings on hourly parking via payroll deduction. The Jawnt Pass debit card can be used for both transit and parking expenses.
