Bike Month
- May is Bike Month! Find out about local events and initiatives taking place across the Commonwealth.
Massachusetts Electric Bicycle Incentive Program
- This recently launched program by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center aims to assist low-and-moderate income residents across the state by providing a voucher that reduces the cost of an e-bike. Vouchers of $800 to $1200 (depending on eligibility) will be awarded via random selection. Find more information here.
Electric Cargo Bikeshare in Allston!
- Harvard is home to CargoB’s newest electric cargo bike. Come say hi to Barry at 28 Travis Street, Allston!
- Barry is a front-loader bucket bike, also known as a bakfiet, capable of accommodating up to a 300 lb payload in the front bucket. You can rent Barry, and any other CargoB bike, by the minute using the CargoB mobile app.

Bluebikes Expansion
- Bluebikes is expanding throughout Boston, including several new stations in and around the Allston campus. Stay informed on these upcoming enhancements here.
New Bicycle Roadside Assistance Program Feature!
- Have you ever had your bicycle lock jammed or lost its key? Nemo will now perform “Lock Out” services within the NEMO service area.
- The Bicycle Roadside Assistance program provides quick fixes to get your bike back on the road if you experience mechanical issues while traveling to or from campus. Additional complementary services include support for chain issues, braking issues, and flat tires. The program is available for benefits-eligible faculty and staff on the Cambridge and Allston campuses. New Bike Registration Process
- HUPD has launched a new registration process through 529 Garage. This program provides a modern registration platform and will now allow your device to be entered into a national bike database. If you previously registered your bike with HUPD, it will remain on file, but you are strongly encouraged to register your bicycles and mobility devices with the new platform.
